The African American Home Movie Archive’s Black Home Movie Index was created to serve as an online resource for researchers, educators, students, archive and library professionals, and other interested parties. The index is complete with collection names, scope and content, dates, links to online finding aids, video streaming links, and contact information for each participating institution, the virtual archive aims to serve as a liaison for African American home movie research by streamlining access to this information. In addition to the Black Home Movie Index, AAHMA collects, digitizes, and provides online access to its own growing collection of Black amateur films and home movies. Over the years, AAHMA has licensed archival footage to PBS, HBO, MGM, Netflix, and many more.
