Transit Film GmbH, a federally owned company, has been appointed to exclusively manage the worldwide commercial sales of German Newsreels from 1889 – 1998 held by the German Federal Archive. These include newsreels from WWI and WWII, newsreels from the Bizone and the Bonn Republic and magazines and documentaries published by the Federal Press Office. Transit Film also exploits its own film stock, which includes federally owned films as well as titles, whose rights Transit Film has acquired. With an ever expanding online presence, more than 600 hours of footage can already be viewed on the company’s digital portal www.transit-digital.de
