www.footagesource.com is the portal for the Forsher Film Archives. The site utilizes the resources of the James Forsher Collection, a thirty year old archive that has in excess of 5500 print, film and video titles. The library covers over 100 years of history, and includes one of the richest collections of Hollywood related footage. such topics as motion pictures, newsreels, cartoons, historical figures, inventions, cultural studies and world locations

Forsher Archives has served the stock footage needs of production company throughout the world for nearly three decades. Originally developed as a component of James Forsher Productions the library has served a worldwide population of advertising agencies, television and film production companies, television stations, corporate and educational audio/video centers as well as cable operators primarily based in the US and Canada. We service them thru our in-house library, including newsreels, features, shorts cartoons, documentaries, shorts and stock footage out-takes.

James Forsher Productions was formed in the mid 1970’s as a film and video production company. During the early 1980's, James Forsher Productions produced a series of documentary specials for national cable and home video release (Ticket to Hollywood, Hollywood Uncensored and Hollywood Ghost Stories that sold to such companies as Movie Channel, Cinemax, Warner Home Video, IVE Home Video etc.). During this time, Forsher Productions developed an in-house library of stock footage, used in the documentaries. Shows like Entertainment Tonight began using the collection on a regular basis. In 1986, the company expanded by hiring a full time film archivist, and the library has functioned as an autonomous company ever since.
