Cape fur seal pup grooming and walking on the beach
- Cape fur seal (Arctocephalus pusillus) pup walking on a beach. This form of locomotion is referred to as galumphing or hobbling. Unlike true seals, fur seals can rotate their hind flippers forwards and use them as legs
Oryx herd drinking
- Herd of Gemsbok (Oryx gazella) drinking at a water-hole in Etosha national park, Namibia. These large antelopes eat grass and leaves and can go without water for long periods. Both the male and the female have horns, which are effective weapons and are held between their forelegs during conflicts in order to impale the enemy.

Hurricane Katrina, satellite data
- Animation based on satellite data of hurricane Katrina, as it developed in the Gulf of Mexico, then made landfall near new Orleans, Louisiana, USA. The data were taken in the infrared band by the NOAA GOES-12 Earth observation satellite between 23rd-30th August 2005. The infrared data has been placed on a map derived from NASA's Blue Marble image. Katrina devastated New Orleans and the surrounding area, causing nearly 2000 fatalities and $125 billion in damage, making it the costliest hurricane to strike the USA.
