LEAD: Celebrating Easter...learning lessons from bombs...triumphing over disease...and understanding welfare...all on the agenda in the Nation's Capital this week. Mary Miller has a look ahead at these and other newsmaking stories. SCRIPT: (NATSND) This week in Washington kicks off with an annual tradition kids love...the Easter Egg Roll on the White House lawn. Hundreds of squealing youngsters get to test their egg-pushing skills and catch a glimpse of the First Couple. A man who once sought the White House job will surface today as well. Steve Forbes will be in town to particiapte in a panel discussion on his favorite topic...tax reform. Tomorrow, we get a lesson on building security and glass safety as a result of the Oklahoma City bombing a year ago. Bomb blast experts will discuss the importance of having laminated glass in federal buildings to avoid flying glass. A look at issues surrounding the nuclear bomb...and nuclear power...is scheduled tomorrow as well. A new study will highlight continuing concerns about the risks of nuclear power accidents like Three Mile Island. Wednesday is the 25th anniversary of the combination measles, mumps and rubella vaccine. A commemorative event is planned to emphasize what proved to be a medical milestone...virtually eliminating once widespread and often fatal diseases. Children on welfare get some attention Thursday and Friday, when a major research organization holds a meeting to discuss the effects of welfare assistance on child development, including how families adjust to economic hardship. I'm Mary Miller in Washington.
