Script | LEAD: The two men accused of killing fellow soldier Barry Winchell are getting a closer look from Fort Campbell officials today. Winchell was beaten to death in his barracks last month.Military officials still aren't considering this a hate crime even though many claim Barry Winchell was gay.Gay rights groups say gay bashing is a fact of life in the military.The hearing for Fort Campbell soldier Calvin Glover was this morning. He's one of the men charged with killing fellow soldier Barry Winchell. Some say Winchell was killed because he was gay.When 21-year old Privte BarryWinchell was found bloodied, beaten and dying in his barracks last month, word quickly spread....he was killed because he was gay. Winchells gay lover came forward to say Winchell had been teased and harassed on Post about their relationship. Fort Campbell officials have denied his murder was a hate crime.Two of Winchells fellow soldiers are charged with his murder.The case has caught the attention of gay rights groups all around the country.ANOTHER SOLDIER, SPECIALIST JUSTIN FISHER IS CHARGED AS AN ACCOMPLICE IN WINCHELLS MURDER.
