CUFFY SAYS HE HELPED CARRY OUT THE MURDER OF SHERIFF ELECT DERWIN BROWN LAST DECEMBER AT THE DIRECTION OF DORSEY THE MAN BEATEN AT THE POLLS BY BROWN. CUFFY SAYS HE ASKED DORSEY WHY HE WANTED BROWN DEAD. (SOT- "Well one of the answers, first answers he gave me was that Derwin was going to kill him first. That um, he knew that Derwin was going to kill him.") CUFFY TOLD THE COURT THERE WAS ANOTHER REASON. THAT DORSEY FEARED DERWIN BROWN WOULD STEAL THE SHERIFF'S SHERRIF'S WIFE, CITY COUNCIL WOMAN, SHERRY DORSEY. (SOT- "And another reason he gave me that Derwin had gotten out of line and told Sherry that-that-that when this was all over he was going to have her. He would take her with her, take her with him.") CUFFY SAYS DORSEY'S FINAL MOTIVE FOR MURDER WAS THAT BROWN HAD DISRESPECTED DORSEY'S DAUGHTER. (NATS) DORSEY'S ATTORNEY, BRIAN STEEL, ASKED CUFFY IF THOSE WERE REASON ENOUGH TO CARRY OUT THE DEADLY PLOT AGAINST DERWIN BROWN.
